World Cup 1979 Triumph


 Carrying forward their winning tempo the West Indies went on to win the next edition of the ICC cricket world cup in held in England in 1979 from June 9 to June 23. 
The West Indies started the tournament as favorite and captain Clive Llyod once again lifted the Prudential Cup. There was no 'Man of the Series' title awarded in this edition of world cup.
The final was played between  the West Indies and host England. Batting first the West Indies amassed 286/9 in their quota of 60 overs. England were bundled out for 194 in 51 overs.
Viv Richards was awarded the 'Man of the Match' award for his innings of 138 and remained unconquered.
